i love it how people want to say how good of a kid mike brown was and saying he was surrendering and blah blah with no actual facts to support that. the autopsy is clear that the fatal blow to the head could have been him rushing the officer OR falling OR to surrender.
The unacceptable state of affairs we find our nation in. Where veterans and warriors recieve so little from the nation we have sacrificed so very much for.
Is this Michael brown? You know he didn’t assault a cop right? He was killed as he had his hands over his head… Was your head in the sand when this was made? This sparked national conflict because black people all over the nation deal with this and it was the last straw. I don’t think it’s acceptable that when you’re killed in action that the very same country you fight for doesn’t even recognize you, but do not drag his name in the mud. He was a good kid killed by a racist cop. Darren Wilson was not called in for a robbery, Michael Brown did not assault him, he was shot on his knees at point blank range. Look at what the witnesses sayhttp://lickingcow.tumblr.com/post/96001035956/wrapyourselfaroundmyfinger . That’s all you need to do. This is disrespectful to both of them.
You must be confused. Allow me to help. There are several different reports about what transpired, but all tell of a confrontation inside of the police cruiser. After which, Brown and his buddy ran and Officer Wilson got out of his cruiser and fired at Brown. All of the reports say Wilson shot about two or three shots at Brown. After that, Brown turned around. Whether to surrender, to fall in pain, or reaction to getting shot is unclear as all the witness accounts vary. However, all accounts attest that Wilson fired five to six more shots. Was it excessive? Yes. But did Officer Wilson summarily execute Brown as you say he did? No. Brown was at no point put on his knees and shot at point blank.
Brown and his buddy did rob the store, as it’s caught on video. However, Officer Wilson was not responding to the call, nor searching for the suspects. He approached Brown and his friend for blocking traffic (walking in the street). From there, the altercation occurred.
Now, the case is being investigated by multiple departments and a grand jury, and until proven guilty, Officer Wilson is innocent. But apparently, that doesn’t apply if you’re a white cop. Instead, the media hypes up the mob justice mentality and automatically brands Officer Wilson a racist murderer before the pieces have even been put together. Now, don’t get me wrong, if it’s ruled that Officer Wilson did commit a homicide by killing Brown, then by all means, he deserves justice. But until a jury of his peers convict him in his guaranteed due process, he’s innocent to me. It’s easy for people to try and tell cops how to do their jobs. But they don’t know how hard it is to be a cop on the beat, knowing that tonight might be their last. And I know that from experience as I’ve come extremely close to losing my father to hostile fire one night in 1997.
As for the police reaction to the protests/riots/looting in Ferguson, was it a bit over the top? It’s a yes and no answer. I could see why the armored vehicles and tear gas were used, and a few rifles here and there, but was there a need for a full mobilization? I’d say no.
As for the Major General Harold Greene, he is the highest ranking serviceman to be killed in action since the war in Vietnam. Personally, I think that’s pretty damn significant enough to have the White House pay some respect to something like that. It’s not often American generals are killed in combat. The last time it happened was…oh yeah, Vietnam.
So, nobody’s dragging Maj. Gen. Greene’s name through the mud, we’re trying to pick it up from the mud and ask why he’s not getting the honor and respect he deserves as an American hero who actually sacrificed 30 years and his life to this nation.
This picture has nothing to do with race, as I’ve seen multiple comments from Nazis and social justice bloggers immediately jump to. It’s asking where the priorities of the White House are? Why are they so eager and willing to jump into a controversial event before the official ruling has been made, but can’t even spare a few aides to send their respects from the President?
